Better known as ACM, the Aluminum Composite Material is most preferred construction metal when talking about modern architecture. It is a three-layer sandwich panel holding pre-painted aluminum sheets bonded to a polyethylene (PE) core. These panels are excellent material for outdoor and indoor applications that seeks for good dimensional stability, brilliant and sleek appearance.

Its durable and half weight of aluminum and are attractive for practical use. It is used in visual merchandising, commercial interiors, framing, archiving, fine art applications and for commercial interior and exterior construction.

ACM is best for the aesthetic quality combined with rigid and ease of fabrication. It is available in a wide range of colors and thickness suitable for painting. Basically, designers and engineers substitute ACM panels for wood in structural signage, architectural cladding, point of purchase, and exhibits.

General ACM Properties

  • Flat sheet application – The aluminum facers are 0.05 thick and hence is recommended for flat sheet applications. Hence, it is suitable for repositioning, graphic mounting and can be routed, or cut.
  • Fire rating – It consists of components for electrical signage and hence meets the criteria for ASTM E-84 and falls in class A materials.
  • Long-term application – The aluminum facer is suitable for repositioning vinyl and painting. It displays long term applications in POP displays, standard or archival framing and in exterior and interior signage.
